UPDATE 3

They found "patient zero"! Turns out, he is an adorable looking little 5 year old who got sick in March. Since the doctors did not know what they were looking for, they sent him home. Since the outbreak started, they re-tested his blood back then and discovered he tested positive for the flu. He has fully recovered since then. Now the other question is this...how did he get it? Well, there is a pig farm near his village and the villagers are a little skeptical about it because they feel that it may come from that particular farm. They didn't want them to open the farm there because it was a little too close to the village. The owner of the farm claims that the virus did not come from their farm. Tehy followed all protocols needed. Monthly vaccinations and monthly testing for the pigs. I don't know if they are telling the truth, but who knows. I guess the only way to find out now is if the owners allow their pigs to be re-tested. Just to be sure.

Don't you think?

Swine Flu Update 2

2 people in the US have died but health officials have ruled out swine flu on one and the results are pending for the second. I got that from CNN. CDC claims that there are 113 confirmed cases worldwide. But that does not include the new cases that were confirmed by the State's own health officials and the health officials of other countries.

Another Show

It's been two weeks since I first started watching this interesting show on Animal Planet. It is called Lost Tapes. In a nutshell, it's like "The Blair Witch Project". But unlike the crappy movie, they are actual footage from real people who have mysteriously disappeared and the tapes were turned over to the proper authorities or people have no exlplanation for what they have captured and want to share it with everyone else.

People are afraid of what they don't understand. Plain and simple. But as the show says, what if it has been captured on camera? Sure, there is still a possible, logical explanation to it. But what?

The show is about the possibility that there are creatures out there whose species are yet be found. You can decide for yourself. For me, of course, there is a possibility these creatures do exist. But like I said, you decide.....

Sorry it's not very clear.

UPDATE: Swine Flu

100 people in New York have been confirmed of having the virus
One person has died, but they are still trying to determine if it was due to the virus.

will update this post again later this afternoon.

So, here is my update on this swine flu thing. Yesterday, there was a private school in Fair Oaks, Ca that closed because there were four  7th graders who were sick. Last night, Sacramento Country confirmed that three 7th graders tested positive for the swine flu. The fourth kid was negative. Here is what I don't understand, so kid no.4 went to Cancun, Mexico for spring break. He got sick. He doesn't have the swine flu. But the three other kids, who DID NOT GO to Cancun, have the swine flu. Can someone please tell me how that happened? I have heard over and over again that they do not know how that could be. I'm hoping the health officials can find an answer to that question.

Another thing is this, why is it that it seems I am one of the few who who is interested in finding "patient zero"? I understand that it only takes one person to spread the illness. And this person may have worked in a farm whose piggly wigglys may have had it. Have they tested the farm workers? Have they located which farm the illness came from? The answer to that is I don't know. I know it's hard to pin point exactly on "who" it may have been. But since this illness is spreading too quickly, and granted that no one in the US has died from it, I think we still deserve to know the details. And I know that the CDC is working hard to find some answers. I wonder if they were able to get some sort of information in 1976 when they had an outbreak of the swine flu? I'm not bashing anyone. Please, don't get wrong. Like a lot of people out there, as a parent, we would like to know what they have found out.

Swine Flu Outbreak

What is this swine flu that is going around? Well, basically, it is a respiratory illness that is found in pigs. How does a human get affected by it? Right now, no one knows.

Last week, my son got sick out of the blue. We figured, he probably got too hot and and that was that. A few days later, my eldest daughter got sick. She was sent home from school. I thought maybe she was going to be starting her adolescent years. She had the symptoms of PMS. But when I looked on cnn.com, I found out there was a nasty bug going around. It was called the swine flu. So I called the doctor right away but her doctor wasn't in. And the only time they could give me was at 2 p.m. Since I was pressed for time, I had to  make a decision weather to bring her to the doctor or be late in picking up the other kids, I chose to pick up the kids in school and observe my daughter. As luck would have it, she got better in 24 hrs.

Today, however, granted that she is doing better, the prognosis on cnn was not so great. This is what I read... "US Declares Public Health Emergency over Swine Flu." Great! 20 confirmed cases in the US and 7 of them are in San Diego, Ca. Mexico has over 300 confirmed human cases and 80 dead but it is not clear yet if it is connected to the flu.

According to the CDC, it is a srtrain of 4 mutated genes found in Influenza A. As long as it continues to affect humans, it can mutate some more and not work with antibiotics. But from what I have read too, no one in the US have died. They have all recovered.

They expect to see more numbers in the coming days. So please, don't go to Mexico right now because it seems that it is coming from there.

Ghost Hunters live 2008

A few days ago, Ghost Hunters had a live show for their halloween special. I didn't get to watch it because we had to take the kiddies for their trick or treating so I just recorded it. When my cousin and i were watching it yesterday, we got spooked by what we heard. There are only three people in this scene. Jason, Grant, and the cameraman. ENJOY!
